Diversity, leadership and tradition
Watt's S.A. is one of the leading food producing companies in Chile, with a wide variety of products that are sold in both the local and the international markets. Its long history began in the 30's, when Mrs. Nelly Watt prepared her first homemade jams under the name of "Watt's home-made jams and jellies".
The company currently has brands strongly positioned in the local market. These include Watt´s, Loncoleche, Calo, Chef, Belmont, Sureña, IceFrut and Yogu-Yogu, amongst others.
Business areas
Watt's products are well known for their quality, flavour and diversity. This has made the company a local market leader in most of the categories in which it participates. Thus, Watt's is Nº1 in the jam, nectar, edible oil and margarine markets. It also has a strong market share with powdered milks, liquid milks and tomato sauce and a growing share in dry and fresh pasta.
Its production plants, located in Santiago and Osorno, are equipped with leading technology, operated by highly trained personnel and controlled with the most sophisticated systems, to ensure quality and guarantee compliance with the highest local and international standards.
Watt's products arrive at the tables of consumers all over Chile, thanks to a broad logistics network and distribution centers throughout the country that guarantee an efficient and timely distribution.
Furthermore, the company is one of the principal players in the industrial business, with a renowned experience in the development of "tailor-made" products, technical support and training to provide solutions to customers in this specific market.
As one of the main suppliers to Chile's National Complementary Food Programme, Watt's has been concerned with the nutritional improvement of Chileans. Since 1970, the company has worked and invested in the development and production of the various formulations of "Leche Purita" and more recently, of "Años Dorados" Milk Beverage, both products designed to meet specific nutritional requirements for children and elderly populations respectively.
Watt's products are also consumed outside Chile, thanks to its subsidiaries in Argentina, Paraguay and Peru, and to its exports to more than 30 countries, mainly in the Americas. Furthermore, Watt's recently announced its official entry into the Asian markets with the inauguration of a commercial office in Shanghai and the export of products through local distributors in China. Thus, the company's internationalization becomes increasingly important.
